This was a live brief for a startup courier company before they realised they never had money and the company never materialised.

The Mythology

In Roman mythology, Mercury was the son of Maia Maiestas and Jupiter. He was a messenger and the god of trade. His name is related to the Latin word merx ("merchandise"; compare merchant, commerce, etc.), mercari (to trade), and merces (wages). In his earliest forms, he appears to have been related to the Etruscan deity Turms, but most of his characteristics and mythology were borrowed from the analogous Greek deity, Hermes.

Mercury had essentially the same aspects as Hermes, wearing winged shoes talaria and a winged petasos, and carrying the caduceus, a herald's staff with two entwined snakes that was Apollo's gift to Hermes.

Like Hermes, he was also a messenger of the gods and a god of trade.

Mercari logo design

Mercari is latin for ‘To Trade’.

Mercury, the Roman God of trade, was also a messenger (todays equivalent of a delivery person(s)) and wore a pair of winged sandals to get around.

The rounded text brings an old word into the 21st century, coupled with the Navy Blue, gives it a strong professional characteristic.

Hi there

It's not actually a font.

I had to recreate the M based on one from the font 'CType AOE' as it was far too oval for my needs (download here [link]).

I hope this helps
